Abstract :In this paper, in order to interpret the stress history of Torigata limestone deposit in Japan, the stress measurements at Torigata Limestone Mine were performed by three methods, namely the calcite strain gauge (CSG) technique (Evans and Groshong, 1994), the differential strain curve analysis (DSCA) (Strickland and Ren, 1980) and the compact conical-ended borehole overcoring technique (CCBO) (Sugawara and Obara, 1999).
