Abstract :Without coherence and cohesion, a theoretical and practical model of teaching may be precarious and ineffective. Nonetheless, a coherent and cohesive model is only useful if the resulting teaching also allows learners to use and develop good learning strategies. This article aims to examine the notion of learning to show that the four stages of learning, which are related to the teaching-learning model of Gattegno's Silent Way approach, constitute an efficient framework for the use and development of learners' learning strategies.
