Abstract :In summary, Dlx5 can interact with GATA-4 and enhance the GATA-4-mediated StAR promoter activity in mLTC-1. Furthermore, the embryonic mutant for Dlx5/6 genes showed defects in testosterone production and male sexual differentiation. Altogether, these results indicated that Dlx5/6 genes are involved in the proper testicular steroidogenesis and fetal masculinization. Additionally, I identified the androgen target genes such as Cyp1b1, Fkbp51 and MafB during GT masculinization. These studies may open the way to analyze human congenital birth defects.
